Raw Almond Butter Recipe

Need a healthy, tasty and simple snack food? This almond butter recipe will do the trick. It uses just two ingredients. Use it in sandwiches, on fruit, or for a healthy and delicious start to your day, try it in steel-cut oatmeal.

This is a great recipe for vegetarians to boost their protein. Almond butter can be very expensive at the grocery store, so make this at home. You only need two ingredients.

2 cups raw organic almonds
2-3 tablespoons of olive oil

Method:

Soak almonds in a large bowl covered with cool water overnight. In the morning, drain the almonds.

Mix almonds and olive oil in a powerful blender (I recommend the Vitamixer) for a few minutes, until the almonds are ground to a paste. If almond paste is dry, add more olive oil to loosen and soften to achieve your desired consistency.

Refrigerate in an airtight container.
