DIY: Homemade Natural Hair Gel

When it comes to makeup and personal care items, natural hair products seem to take the backseat. Though not a direct delivery route like skin, chemical-laden hair products seep into your bloodstream via your scalp, face, and hands. That’s why it’s important to take note of the ingredients in your shampoos, conditoners, and gels, and when possible, make them yourself! The following recipe for a homemade natural hair gel eliminates the toxins found in store-bought variations and enhances your natural hair texture.

This nautral hair gel recipe doesn’t use regular gelatin, derived from animal bones. Instead, it uses a vegan alternative called agar agar which comes from seaweed. Aloe vera adds a moisturizing touch and you can customized it with essential oils of your choosing.
